Frequently asked questions
Where do the forecasts come from?
PowerGuardian does not produce its own price cap forecasts. The widget shows confirmed Ofgem caps and attributed forecasts from named third parties, with their source and dates.
How reliable are energy price forecasts?
Forecasts are estimates, not guarantees — wholesale prices can move quickly. That's why the widget shows a confidence level and a range rather than a single number, and links back to our full forecast page for the detail.
Is this widget free to use?
Yes. It's free for non-commercial and editorial use on UK consumer websites, blogs, local authority pages, housing association sites and charities. The only requirement is that the 'Powered by PowerGuardian' attribution link stays visible and clickable.
How do I add it to my website?
Copy the iframe snippet on this page and paste it into your page's HTML where you want the widget to appear. It works in any CMS that allows custom HTML or embed blocks — WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Ghost and more.
Does it work on mobile and in dark mode?
Yes. The widget is fully responsive, mobile-optimised and lazy-loaded, and it adapts to light and dark backgrounds so it blends with your site's theme.
