Switching and supplier performance: the essentials

PowerGuardian is not a switching service

We do not run a white-label comparison journey and we do not rank suppliers by what they pay us. PowerGuardian publishes independent supplier intelligence so you can judge a supplier on complaints, service, tariff competitiveness, billing behaviour, transparency and stability before you commit. Where a page contains an affiliate link, that is disclosed on the page itself.

    Price is only one dimension

The cheapest headline tariff is not automatically the right choice. Exit fees, billing accuracy, how quickly a supplier answers the phone and how it handles a disputed bill all matter once something goes wrong. Our supplier scores keep those dimensions separate rather than collapsing them into a single star rating.

Switching is not always the answer

For some households the better move is a payment-method change, a direct debit review or a tariff change with the current supplier. We say so on the relevant pages rather than presenting switching as universally beneficial.

Scores are editorial, dated and challengeable

Every supplier score carries the date of the data behind it and a link to the scoring methodology. Suppliers and readers can challenge a score; corrections are recorded publicly rather than applied silently.
