    Frequently asked questions

Are the PowerGuardian widgets really free?

Yes. Every widget is free for non-commercial and editorial use on UK consumer websites, blogs, local authority pages, housing association sites and charities. The only requirement is that the 'Powered by PowerGuardian' attribution link stays visible and clickable.

How do I embed a widget on my website?

Copy the iframe snippet under any widget and paste it into your page's HTML where you want the widget to appear. It works in any CMS that allows custom HTML or embed blocks, including WordPress, Squarespace, Wix and Ghost.

Will the widgets stay up to date automatically?

Yes. Widgets load live from PowerGuardian, so when we refresh our price cap, forecast, supplier and tariff data, every embedded widget updates automatically. You never need to change the embed code.

Where does the data come from?

Price and forecast widgets use PowerGuardian's Ofgem-based price cap tracking and forecasting model. Supplier and tariff widgets use our Supplier Intelligence and tariff tracking. Calculator widgets use UK-average figures reviewed monthly. Each widget shows its own data source and last-updated stamp.

Do the widgets work on mobile and in dark mode?

Yes. Every widget is responsive, mobile-optimised, lazy-loaded and uses accessible colour contrast, and adapts to light and dark backgrounds so it blends with your site.

Can I request a custom widget?

Yes — get in touch via our contact page. The widget library is built to expand, so we can add new calculators, reports and data widgets over time.
